allowing elements to settle.

Storing raw wood logs and metal castings inside oil baths and climate chambers for years to ensure complete structural inertia.

Even after annealing, materials require rest. Our seasoning process is the longest phase of creation.

Raw oak and walnut logs are stacked in our climate chambers for up to five years, allowing moisture levels to slowly equalize to nine percent. Cast bronze plates are submerged in deep, hot oil baths, cycling temperatures over several weeks to simulate seasonal changes before the first file touches the surface. This seasoning ensures that once an instrument is calibrated, its elements will never twist or slide due to ambient atmospheric changes.
