Our choice of materials is dictated by how they respond to wear, time, and gravity. We avoid synthetics, plating, or temporary coatings.
Instead, we work with raw metals like aged brass, cold-rolled copper, steel plate, and cast iron. These materials are chosen for their structural integrity and self-lubricating qualities under friction. We also source seasoned hardwoods, allowed to rest for years in dry environments to prevent later warping. Every raw plate and bar is inspected under magnifying lenses for structural purity. By selecting elements that mature with age, we ensure that each mechanism gains character over decades of use, developing a dark, lustrous patina that records the touch of its users.
